As we recently witnessed the inauguration of a new president, we are reminded of the immense responsibility that comes with leading a nation. Whether we align politically with the individual or not, as Christians, we are called to pray for our leaders and support them in seeking wisdom, justice, and guidance from God. “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”

Heavenly Father,

 

We lift up our nation and its leaders to You. Bless our president with wisdom, discernment, and strength to govern according to Your will. Surround him with godly counsel and fill his heart with a spirit of humility and service. Help us, as citizens, to UNHooK from division and embrace unity, offering our support and prayers for Your divine plan to be fulfilled. May we be instruments of Your peace and love in this land.
